The moment I saw this Jasper stone, I also saw the design in my mind. The Jasper is called Starry Night Jasper and so of course it had to be part of a starry night scene. The back is sterling silver. The textured rays coming swooping down from the sterling "moon" are made of fine silver (.999 silver). I added fine silver stars in between the rays and darkened the sky behind them. The moon is an open ring. The hand cut bail is riveted inside the ring so the pendant hangs loosely from the bail. The bezel around the stone is fine silver.
I cut out another starry night scene behind the stone as a little secret for the wearer to treasure.
The stone is a Starry Night Jasper, from the McDermitt area at the Oregon-Nevada border. The lapidary artist is Laurie Gates Engelhardt.
SIZE: This pendant is just under 2 inches long and about 1 7/8 inches wide. It is sold without a chain.
