This beautiful peach colored Flamingo Agate was the perfect stone for a feathery setting. The pendant is sterling silver. The feather is fine silver (.999 silver). It is sawed out, curved and shaped to flow around the stone and glisten in the light. I antiqued the silver and then polished most of the antiquing off of the feather, allowing it to stand out against the darker background.The bail is hand cut and riveted; it features a little cut out bird winging its way into the sky (after having lost a feather, of course).
SIZE: This pendant measures about 2 1/8 inches long and just under 1 1/4 inches wide. It is sold without a chain.

PROPERTIES OF STONES (information compiled from various sources): Flamingo Agate is a type of brecciated agate, which means that it was formed millions of years ago from broken pieces of minerals that were bound together over time with agate. The lovely soft peachy pink colors in this agate are caused by iron oxides. Flamingo Agate is currently only found in parts of Nevada. Agate in general is said to strengthen the body and mind as well as promote courage. It is also supposed to facilitate the ability to discern truth.
