This sparkly multi-colored opal triplet deserved a simple setting, so that is what I created for it. Normally I would not recommend wearing an opal in a bracelet as it is a rather soft and fragile stone. But a triplet is much harder. It has a black glass layer on the bottom which helps the opal colors flash. Next is a thin layer of opal, and on top of that is a clear quartz layer which adds durability and hardness. It's a less expensive option as well as being harder, but still shows all the beauty and flash of the natural opal layer. The cuff is sterling silver with a stippled texture that gives it a frosted look. This is a real beauty that will attract attention and comments!
Although the cuff has been hammered in order to harden the metal, it can become misshapen if it is stretched or squeezed. Please see Caring for your Cuff for more information on how to successfully adjust the size (but only by about 1/4 inch) and care for your cuff bracelet.
SIZE: This cuff has an inside circumference of about 6 1/4 inches. It can be slightly adjusted but no more than 1/4 inch. Once it has been adjusted it is best to not try adjusting again. The cuff band is about 3/8ths of an inch wide and about 1mm thick. Please see last photo for inside diameter measurements. The stone measures about 17x12mm (about 5/8 x just under 1/4 inch)
MATERIALS: Sterling silver, fine silver bezel, opal triplet
PROPERTIES OF STONES (information compiled from various sources): Opal is said to enhance imagination and creativity. It is also supposed to help ease the difficulties of change. Opal is one of October's birthstones. Because there is a quartz layer as well, here are the properties of quartz: Quartz is said to clear the mind of negativity, and to enhance personal awareness and growth.
