These delicate earrings feature round Nacozari Turquoise beads from Mexico. I accented them with little faceted Lapis Lazuli beads which adds a nice contrast. On the very top are two turquoise colored seed beads. I used sterling silver wires and bead caps. The ear wires are also sterling silver. A note: Turquoise is one of December's birth stones; Lapis Lazuli was also one of December's birthstones at one time. That makes these earrings perfect for someone born in the month of December!
SIZE: These earrings hang about 1 1/2 inches long. The Turquoise beads are about 8mm in diameter (about 5/16 inches). The Lapis Lazuli beads are 3mm (about 1/8 inch). Each earring weighs about 1 gram.

In traditional thought, Turquoise unites the earth and the sky, bringing together male and female energies. This stone is supposed to be empathetic and balancing and assist creative problem-solving. Turquoise is one of December's birthstones. Lapis Lazuli is said to stimulate wisdom and good judgment, as well as the desire for knowledge It is supposed to be a stone of truth, and also of friendship. Although Lapis Lazuli is not on the modern birthstone list, it was traditionally one of December's birthstones.
