The bright green of Malachite brings spring and summer to mind. I created the dangling double stoned Malachite pendant and decided it had to have a summery beaded necklace as well. I loved the sunny golden look of the Amber beads with the Malachite! I used a combination of silver spacer beads and copper colored glass seed beads to connect all the colors together. The clasp is a hand made copper toggle clasp. To add a bit of summery vibe, I cut out two leaves behind the Malachite circle.
SIZE: This necklace is just under 20 inches. The pendant hangs about 1 3/8 inches; the round Malachite has a diameter of 1/2 inch.
MATERIALS: Sterling silver, Malachite, Amber, Japanese glass seed beads, Copper, Stainless steel stringing material
PROPERTIES OF STONES (information compiled from various sources): Malachite is considered a protection stone; in particular, it helps protect from negative energies. It is also supposed to contribute to creativity and developing the intuition. Amber is said to help balance emotions and clear the mind. It is also supposed to take negative energy away from the body and help ease stress. Because it is technically not a stone (but rather fossilized tree resin or sap), it is warm rather than cool as most stones are.
